When it comes time for clients to pick a therapist or mediator to work with you and/or your family, some of the considerations that should assessed in making that decision include the experience, training, and certifications of the professional you will be working with (all of our providers are highly experienced and have pursued advanced certifications).

What sets us apart is our philosophy of working with clients. We would like people to remember that, ultimately, The Atlanta Marriage and Mediation Clinic is registered as healthcare agency, and that is precisely what our top priority is: to focus on the health of all of the participants we work with. We are aware that, unfortunately, many professionals often have a financial incentive to recommend unnecessary services, to drag out the length of time that participants stay involved in a process, and, at times, to make various processes aggressive or adversarial. We follow strict guidelines of various professional groups (see below), and all of our recommendations to clients are a cross between evidence-based practices and conflict de-escalation techniques. In fact, most of our systems are specifically designed to be as efficient, ethical, affordable, and amicable as possible. Our services can usually be purchased as flat-fee rates.

While many of the services that we offer can be emotionally challenging, we strongly believe that our approach, combined with our exceptional providers, places us among the top organizations in Atlanta in regards to couples counseling and mediation services.

Collaborative Law Process

  • We are extremely proud and honored to be among a small but growing field of professionals in Atlanta who follow a Collaborative Law Process.

  • This means that we have partnered with local attorneys to provide clients with an option to complete a full-service divorce case based on a team approach.

  • Clients will work with professionals who specialize in various aspects of divorce, including accountants and family therapists. Once an item needed for divorce is completed, they will be referred to the next professional.

  • The vast majority of the divorce is completed in mediation. Attorneys are saved for the very end of the process, at which point their role is to simply file the divorce papers with the courts.

  • Our process is thorough, responsible, relatively stress free, and highly cost-effective, involving mostly flat rates for services.

  • The attorneys that we currently partner with for this process include Brown, Dutton, and Crider and Chanel Payne.
