Conflict Resolution Consulting (Informal Mediation): $100.00 per hour
This service is designed for individuals, families, neighbors, and organizations seeking assistance resolving private disputes that are not appropriate for court intervention and are not intended to become court matters.
Unlike formal mediation involving divorce, custody, child support, probate, or other legal disputes, Conflict Resolution Consulting focuses on helping participants navigate interpersonal disagreements, establish expectations, improve communication, and develop practical solutions that work for everyone involved.
Conflict Resolution Consulting is focused on helping individuals, families, and other parties resolve specific disagreements, improve communication, and develop practical agreements for moving forward. Unlike therapy, these services are not intended to diagnose or treat mental health conditions, process trauma, address emotional disorders, or provide psychotherapy. Therapy may be a better fit when concerns primarily involve depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, addiction, anger management, or personal growth and emotional healing. In some situations, participants may benefit from both services, using therapy to address personal emotional concerns while utilizing Conflict Resolution Consulting to resolve a specific interpersonal conflict or establish clear expectations and boundaries.
Examples of matters that may be appropriate for Conflict Resolution Consulting include:
Establishing expectations and boundaries regarding grandparent involvement with grandchildren
Developing household agreements between roommates regarding guests, noise, chores, finances, or shared spaces
Resolving disputes between adult siblings regarding responsibilities for aging parents
Addressing conflicts between adult children and parents regarding independence, financial support, or household expectations
Assisting blended families in establishing expectations regarding holidays, family traditions, and household roles
Helping former romantic partners maintain a healthy friendship or shared social circle following a breakup
Navigating disagreements between close friends that have strained an important relationship
Assisting families in resolving disputes related to weddings, funerals, family gatherings, or major life events
Helping college students and their families establish expectations regarding finances, communication, and independence
Assisting church members, volunteer groups, clubs, or community organizations experiencing interpersonal conflict
Helping small business partners, founders, or colleagues improve communication and establish clearer expectations before disputes escalate
Facilitating discussions regarding boundaries, communication, and expectations among extended family members
Assisting families in creating agreements regarding caregiving responsibilities for elderly or disabled relatives
Helping individuals resolve ongoing interpersonal conflicts that are causing stress but do not require legal intervention
These services are intended for private interpersonal disputes and relationship conflicts. They are not intended for litigation, court proceedings, divorce actions, custody disputes, or other legal matters where participants anticipate court involvement.
